The Education Directorate completed a Special Purpose Review of our school in 2022.
The review considered four key themes:
- Student learning and engagement
- Teaching practices
- Leadership practices
- Organisational practices
Special Purpose Reviews (SPR) are regular practice across ACT public schools. They help us to continually improve the way we plan and manage school resources to best benefit students.
We are extremely proud of our achievements at Kingsford Smith School over the past few years and would like to make special thanks to you all for your continued interest and support.
The review has provided a real opportunity to continue improving the way we lead our school to ensure the best outcomes for every student. It has also allowed us to look at the things that are working well and opportunities to build on these successes.
This includes our improved Positive Behaviours for Learning program and student engagement and peer support programs. Our ongoing focus on student pathways through work experience, work placements and Australian School-based Apprenticeships has been extremely successful as has our continued focus on building and expanding our teaching and learning strategies. We look forward to continuing this work in term 4.
Parents and carers will continue to be updated on our schools progress though our school newsletters and website.
