Koori preschool meets each week on Thursdays, Fridays and alternate Wednesdays (odd weeks) from 8.45 am to 2.45pm. The Koori preschool program provides children who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander to learn aspects of their culture through a play based program. Children participate in early literacy and numeracy learning as well as opportunities to develop oral language skills. As part of the program, children may have the opportunity to visit venues around Canberra that have significant meaning for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Koori preschool also provides opportunities for children to listen and learn about culture through story telling from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander visitors.
